Folkestone Pomerania MCZ

Site Overview

Folkestone Pomerania is located approximately 6km from the south-east Kent coastline and covers an area of 34km.

The site encompasses a range of habitats that support a diverse range of species including commercially important fish species such as mackerel, cod and sole that use the area as a nursery and spawning ground. The MCZ protects six different habitats and is one of only two MCZs in the south-east area that protects honeycomb worm reefs.
