Fishing Activity Mapping

Since 2008, all sightings of fishing gear and vessels, including their activity, has been recorded by officers during routine patrols. Fishing vessel and gear sighting and activity data are entered into a sightings database which is updated regularly. We use this data to create maps of fishing activity within the K&EIFCA district which help to inform our management of fisheries and marine protected areas.
